    Yea if you are lucky enough to find a laptop with exactly what you want, the outlet is the way to go. I didn't see any like that so I had to customize too.

    The ground map says it can make it in two days so I wonder if there will be a chance of it coming Monday since it was picked up so early in the morning.

    When I ordered I had a normal shipping so I shipped to work to make sure I would get it. Now if they deliver on Saturday there won't be anybody :-( . That sucks!

    Ok, I just called Fedex they said no Saturday delivery. I am relieved since the work place is closed on Saturday that would have worried meif they left it there.

    I rather get the delivery in my hands :) . Geez it is going to be the 1st time ever I will look forward to Monday!

    So I got my hubby a refurb, and it shipped on Thursday with regular shipping. My XPS that I ordered on Jan 3rd. shipped on Friday with Next Day shipping. I came home to a laptop on my porch (Fed Ex guy didn't need a siggy, I guess, but that's another story). Whose laptop was it? My husband's. He's in Baghdad, and I can't even mail it until Monday. Sometimes the universe is just screwed up like that.
    So I'm loading all of his games on there for him. It's a SWEET machine. I can't wait until mine gets here!

    Spur: I'm just looking out for an e-buddy that's anxious like me!

    I really hope they don't just leave mine. Even Dell's site states they should not leave any laptops over $300 without a signature, and my FedEx tracking info states a signature is required.

    Although, I really don't like how it explains the Indirect Signature Required. It says they can leave it with a neighbor or the business office. I wouldn't really mind if they left it with the leasing office, but I don't even know my neighbors. Why would they deliver it to them without my permission?

    sometimes fedex guys (not all of them) are too lazy to make another deliver, so they just "fake" the signature and leave it in front of your door. You should call fedex and complain lol

    Question : Why do some people's SXPS 16s stay in the boxing stage more than others' although all of them were ordered on the same day and from the same country ?
    I can understand that some laptops may need more build or testing time, or different factories around the world can have different boxing time but it is difficult to guess a reason why two laptops that were sent to the boxing line at the same time have very different shipping dates.

    Maybe one made it just at the end of one plane's capacity, and then the other one had to sit until there were enough to load another plane.

    Yes, I think they play with them for a little bit...and box them back up on their lunch hours and break times! :p :rolleyes: ;) Kidding, of course they don't. :D

    With laptops, there is a requirment with Fed Ex..they will not leave them at your door or with someone else.

    Unless, you give authorization for this to happen, it's simply not supposed to.
    They are liable if something happens to it, if they do this.

    If your not home, they leave a Call Tag for you to contact them for delivery, attempt for another delivery, or that you can pick up at their depot that evening, as such. ;)

    Don't worry about these things, if you do..it starts to eat at your *system* as a whole. Be positive and happy, that your going to have your lappy in your hands fairly soon! :cool:

    I am typing this to you on my beautiful new Red XPS m1530! The FedEx guy brought it at 0930 this morning! Now I'm installing all my goodies, then I have to head to work. :D

    So, I had to come to work for the afternoon, knowing that my laptop is sitting at home, waiting for me. At least I got all my goodies loaded before I came in so it'll be ready to go when I get home. OMG, I'm so excited. From the little bit i got to play with before I came in, it was definitely worth the wait.
    And the refurb I got for my husband was just as awesome. Couldn't even tell it was a refurb, except for the sticker.
    Dell scored major points with these. The delay sucked, but finally getting someone in customer service to respond, and then finally getting it has redeemed them.

    That's going to be me too. My dad will be at our apartment to receive the package, but I will probably be at work checking FedEx tracking like a fiend. Then when I see delivered, I will come down with Laptop Fever and have to go home. :D
