    :)
I ordered a laptop from Dell 2 days ago.
It's supposed to arrive on 1'st of Sep.
But reading the forum comment I feel that I will get it before that.

But I can't stay at home waiting for it, coz I hv other work.
    - Will they inform me the exact date that they will deliver it to me, so I can be at home on that day?
    - Do I need to check it for physical damages and power it up and see whether it works before I sign and accept it?

    :D

Perhaps with all the broohaha about those darn batteries, Dell will take a little longer.
There is now talk about people getting singled out at airports because they're carrying a Dell. This makes Dell want to beef up the replacements.

nah...you have a warranty...if it doesn't power up...you send it back. They don't tell you the exact day...but they give you a good idea....keep ur eye on the tracker.

Once the tracking number shows up you can see the expected delivery date given by UPS, which is usually accurate. And on the day they're going to deliver it, you'll see it marked as "Out for delivery".

Although I notice your location says Sri Lanka. Don't know what the situation is with the shipping companies there or if it is similar.

UPS Will try to deliver it 3 times. So if you're not home the first day, don't sweat it. I wasn't home the first day, but I checked UPS and it said "Delivery attempt #1" and it gave the date and time. So the next day I stayed home, and it came, I signed, and he left. This was the 24th of July, and it was scheduled for July 28 to August 1.

I received a $15 coupon from Dell today for that Skin creating participation.
But I ordered my laptop about 3 days ago.

If I call them now and give them the coupon will they apply it for my order??
