I'm in the process of shopping for a widescreen monitor to hook to my laptop for when I'm writing my dissertation and I have a couple questions. My main priority is to be able to comfortably see two word documents at once so that I can have my research notes open on one side and my dissertation on the other. I was thinking that either a 20 or 22 inch widescreen would allow me to do that, so my first question is whether the 22 inch is worth the $ premium or if 20 will suffice.

Also, Dell is currently running a sale on their budget LCDs, and I could get the 22 inch E228WFP for 279$. For the same price I can get the better, but refurbished 2007WFP at the dell outlet. Which one do you think is a better fit for my needs? Has anyone had particular success or ran into trouble buying monitors from the outlet? they have the same warranty, right?

    Thanks
