Dell Jet Black Delays?

Hey all!
I am in the process of canceling my Ruby Red Computer (specs in sig) and I ordering a Jet Black 1520. Before I order I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they know of anything that might delay the Jet Black. For an example: webcam, processor, glass, video card, etc.

I was also hoping to hear from someone who ordered one in the last week or so. What is your status? How fast (or slow) has it moved through the system for you?

I would stick it out for the Red, but I am just think it is dumb for me to wait for a color to show up. Especially when I would mind a Jet Black.

Any info at all would be great!

 

You could ask EP2007, he ordered a black 1520 on July 15 (WXGA, T5450, 8600M-GT, Webcam)

I havent heard if he's got it yet.

 

I ordered mine last thursday and i'm still in the build stage...but i've heard of others getting there laptops in as little as 4-6 days. And yes, mine is jet black as well. Dell seems to take there time...and it gets irritating sometimes.

 

I am thinking of doing the same thing with my 1720 order. At this point my odds of winning the lottery are better than my order shipping on the 10th

I have been on hold with Customer Care for 20 minutes... Dell is FABULOUS!

 

I just changed my order from brown to jet black. Ship date changed from 8/10 (yeah right) to 8/23. Hopefully I made the right choice & will get my comp sooner rather than later. Also got a $50 credit due to the color change.

 

I ordered my jet black 1420 on July 15th its suppose to ship tomorrow but its still in build although none of csr seem to know what is delaying it.

 

I also ordered a Ruby Red on July 26th. My ship date was supose to be Aug. 14th. I called them on the 13th just to make sure and they told me I would not get mine until September 14th-18th but I would not have known if I did not call. On the 14th it still was saying it was being delivered that day. I was annoyed and cancled mine for now. Trying to decided if I want to order a black one.

 

I ordered mine on Aug. 10th and it's in boxing at the moment. Specs are in sig.

I bought this to spite Mac Fans I know (not really...) but this just gives them fodder and makes me start to question Dell a lot more.

I ordered a Midnight Blue 1520 on 7/23. First ESD was 8/16. That came and went, and now my ESD is 8/28 (yes, I joined the club!).

In the meantime, on 7/17, I ordered a Jet Black 1520. ESD is 8/30. I am going to see which one ships first, and I will cancel the other. I hope I can do this correctly and not end up with two! Both are in build stage, and I am also curious to see if delays start popping up with the Jet Black laptops. It's been frustrating, because now my daughter won't have either one when school starts!
