DELL IS THE BEST! I reccomend every one buy from dell. They have great support and the best computers. If looking at dell go with the 6000, 700m, 9300, or XPS. They are all great!

well..now it's XPS gen 2...XPS is old now and are not made anymore...and the only reason they have the "best computers" is because of their coupons that they have regularly...i don't think that the amount of people that buy from dell would by if there were no coupons out like the ones that have been out this year...anyone else agree with me on this??..cuz i know i wouldn't buy a dell if there were no coupons for any of the machines...because it would cost wayyy tooo much

100% for me too, I've posted about why they get all the press as well, I don't buy from Dell for that reason. Plus there are better brands out there *cough* asus *cough* Dell costs too much for what you get and a coupon just isn't worth what you end up with.

lol, i wasn't going to post, but I have to now....

While dell does have some good qualities, there are SEVERAL brands that are better than dell in built and performance. Dell is known as a cheaper brand (talking about the Inspiron series, not Latitudes) so this is why they are so popular. It is a popular choice for the typical college kid who doesn't have much money, or someone that buys a new laptop every two years. Parents love it for their kids cause it is an affordable laptop, but all of this is because of the coupons.

Look at Fujitsu or Asus and several other brands...their products are better built but a little bit more expensive. Dell is good for those who aren't wanting to spend a ton of money on a laptop and can get by with medicore quality.

If you examine the more common issues with dell: the ram being over expensive, video cards only being replaceable with what is offered, now having to pay for a backup XP CD, etc.... it's easy to see why their inspirons are cheaper than the other manufacturers. They overcharge on everything else.

Yes i do LIKE my 9300, but if I could buy something else, I probably would have. Not saying that Dell is horrible or anything like that. Dell is good if you are on a budget, but with cheaper notebook, you will have to sacrifice on quality and built.

Anubis, did you receive your Z70va? I'm curious if resellers have them in stock, yet.

No fair!! I can't find the Z70va anywhere, either. Some people have told me that ISTNC is the exclusive vendor for the Z70va. I wonder if that's true?

This is a strange post to make. How old are you?

I'm especially curious about what you like about their support. For the most part, its representatives are reading from a script with absolutely no technical training.

Anyway, as for what you said. Dell is my choice in computers but that is ONLY due to the coupons. In every other catagory i'd pick other brands over dell.

Sorry to burst the bubble here!
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?RSS&NewsID=12351

Dell is really cheaping out lately - a 90 day warranty? Come on, that sound s like they dont want to take care of or help you.
And not including the operating system CD? That's really cheap - I bought a copy of XP, so I should rightfully have the CD. True, there is an image of XP on the hard disk, but its loaded with all the crap bloatware dell impregnates their comptuers with.

I would buy a Dell, but only one of their business ones.

There's no need to get age involved in these forums. Please try to keep it on topic without getting too personal.

    Thanks,
