I recently ordered a D630 with internal AT&T broadband. I currently subscribe to the service. Has anyone had experience switching their service to a new device? I have a pcmica card... Do I just pull the sim card and stick it in the new laptop? Where is the minicard located? (probably under the keyboard)

you dont need switch your card, it is already built-in. all you need to do is configure the broadband access with your pw and ID.

I don't recall a password or ID I though it was all tied to my sim card that is inside the PCMICA adapter. I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks for the response.

The PCMCIA card is redundant with the internal broadband. In other words, if you were going to use the card, you didn't need to get the internal broadband. If you want to use the internal broadband, then you don't need the card anymore. At least that's my understanding.

Yes, that is my understanding also. If I still neded my external card I would not have added the upgrade. This particurlar Novatel modem is tied to my Cingular (AT&T) account through a sim card. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the internal Dell card has a sim slot on it? If I switched sim's I would imagine I could avoid calling Cingular or dell to get it running. One less offshore phone call would save what few nerves i have left :)
