    Hi guyz,

    I have a dell inspiron 6400 laptop and i get the following errorcode.

    ErrorCode: 0f00:013e. IDE device failed. A possible failure is predicted by the drive's S.M.A.R.T status. Please back up the data.

    Can someone assist as to how to i solve the problem?

    I also dont have a recovery cd so how do i use the hidden partition of the laptop which has the installation media in it?

    Please help!!!

    Hard drive is dying, call support if you are under warranty.

    SMART isn't fantastic, but when your system fails the POST SMART check, that's never, ever good news.

    If you're out of warranty you can get a replacement drive from Newegg for a fair price.
