    hi guys
    just few question's about Dell Inspiron 1705 , 1505 , 1405

    1- when was it introduced
    2- what dose the 3rd & 4th digit stand for?
    i know that the first 2 digit stand for the screen size

    The inspirons have been around for awhile. The specific laptops that you listed were released this year though. Before those, there was the 9300, 6400, 600m As for the 05 part - no idea.

    well in canada, they are called inspiron 9400, 6400, and 640m (the current ones); and in the US they are called inspiron e1705, e1505, and e1405

    not sure if this helps but just stating the facts

    Dell is just weird - they use the 9400/6400/etc on the Inspirons sold in the Business section, but in the Home section, they use the 1705, 1505, etc. I have yet to figure out why they use such different names in different countries.
