    Hi!

The wife has an inspiron e1405 and the mouse or pointing device has been failing.
We sent it to dell to be repaired and it says that they replaced the Palm Rest Assembly.

It worked fine for 2 days and now again it is failing. It goes off and the only way to make it work (sometimes) is to press the left CTL key and move the pad @ the same time.

I also formatted the computer thinking it was a windows / driver issue, but that didn't help either.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    An external mouse will work.

It's just the pointing decive that has failed again.
