I recently opened up my Inspiron e1405 for a much needed upgrade of RAM. In doing so I head something very small drop off it onto the floor in my kitchen. After putting it all back together, I noticed that the machine will not automatically sleep when I close the lid. Yes, all my settings are correct and it should sleep, but I think that the small magnets that tell the laptop to sleep when the lid is closed fell off. I do not know where they are originally located nor could I find them once they dropped off.
Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else here and if they have any type of solution to fix this?
Thanks!!

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Easiest thing to do is just to buy a new bezel. They're cheap and plentiful on eBay, etc.
The real question is, why are you taking apart the display assembly to upgrade the RAM? -
I was fixing the hinges on it too.

My e1505 has a lidswitch under the right hinge (it's not a magnet on the e1505, though yours is e1405). Maybe you could check there.
