Well, I noticed this way before Engadget reported it but when I was downloading drivers for the Inspiron 1520 I noticed the Sigmatel driver said XPS 1530 and a two new Vostros and Inspirons, I thought I was wrong when I assumed they could be new notebooks.

Well well, the M1530 seems to exist somewhere and here is a screenshot of the driver launched and it says:

    For:
    Inspiron 1525, 1526
    Vostro 1010, 1011
    XPS 1530

    Here is a supplied screenshot:

It's been posted already with webcam drivers, even before the XPS 1730 came out... It better be summat new though, maybe with the 8700M-GT GX2 in the XPS 1730 or maybe an 8600M-GT GX2... otherwise the Vostro, the IFL-90 and maybe even the G1S are going to slaughter its sales... The design needs to be good to redeem Dell as well...

I just ordered a 1520. My biggest gripe is the 8600gt with the antiquated gddr2 ram. I figured that since the 1520 is relatively new they would update the video card once the g92/98's came out and I could do the swap. But if the 1525/26 replaces the 1520 it looks like I might be sol. I wounder how far off this is.

If the Inspirons or Vostros had a GPU update I would expect them to either fall behind the XPS stable, or, see an identical if not better update in the premium line.

The XPS that I have in mind is (perhaps obviously) the adequate if not thrilling '8400M GS' in the M1330.

Probably the AMD version of Santa Rosa.

My guess is the 1525 is intel the 1526 is amd. Its just adding 5 to the current line. Probably some sorta of minor improvement, who knows. Its interesting that the 1720 isn't being updated, this makes me think its a small revision of a sort.
