In this topic http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=140226 I see "instructions" about "getting a remote" from dell by calling them,

But before calling them, I would like to ask:

Did you receive a remote with your new inspiron?

If so, did you call them to get it?

I think it should come by default to everyone.

Here in Scandinavia, I had to ask for the remote control while ordering my Inspiron.

The salesman told me that it doesnt exist because he couldnt see it in his dell accessories database.

I told him about the review of the pc with the remote control and he said he will call me back later.

After two hours (!) he called back and said that he FOUND IT, but it costs 100$ to get it!

I said it was too much, so he reduced the price to 30$. I guess since I was ordering a 1340$ laptop he was kind with me. Very nice of him!

Andrew should have let US KNOW that it is not free and does not come by default (if it's not)

Here we go, another plus for the HP: a free remote.

I got it for free through Dell Rep; Critic also get it free and will be getting it first; He will fill you in on whether or not it is the right one.

I received the remote today (since I had ordered it with my laptop, but dell credited the difference back into my account) it's handy and very easy to sync up with the laptop, it's bluetooth not IR. Bad things about it is that it doesn't fit completely into the slot it sticks out as you can see in the pictures, and also you can't leave it inside the notebook because it will drain your battery, unless ofcourse the laptop is pluged in. But its free!!! :D

    Wait wait wait,

Do you think it will come with my laptop if I got it with Bluetooth capability or do I have to call them?

    Thanks

that's not the dell remote that should come with the 1520,This one is a bluetooth wireless presenter remote that could be bought outside dell and can be used with any other laptop ,The one with the dell should be a multimedia remote and should only work with it's models and shouldn't stick out.

The bluetooth remote is like $50, and was never intended to be shipped. The IR remote was the one everyone is talking about, the pictures above are for the bluetooth remote and not the IR remote ;)

Oh, I forgot to mention...I got a rep to give me the bluetooth card instead of the IR card for free, but I just got lucky ;)
