Got my Inspiron 15R N5010 a few days ago. Looks good but the battery latch makes an annoying rattling noise and also doesn't hold the battery well as I could move the battery left to right a bit even when the latch is locked. I called up Dell and they sent an engineer home to replace the bottom cover. He came in and replaced just the battery and said that even the new cover would have the same issue and told me that this was a design issue. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Nope, the bottom cover needs to be replaced. I have used my share of 15R and none have ever had the issue, ask Dell to replace the whole bottom cover.

I have the same issue. Got my 15R in Oct and this is the only issue I've had with it. I only have depot service and don't want to send it in just for this. If anything else needs repairing then I'll bring it up, other then that I just deal.

maybe a small square or two of electrical tape on the end of the battery to improve the fit ?
