Hi guys, I hope my post will help some of Dell N series owners, I bought a few day ago a Dell Latitude N 5050 with linux on it, after I've deleted the linux partition I've started to install Windows Xp and surprize NO DRIVERS for all the DEVICES on Dell site.
So I talked with the guys from tech support, but again surprize, because I've boughted the laptop from ROMANIA (EUROPE) I've recived an message that my SERVICE TAG is alocated to products outside USA so I am unable to have their support, I've asked to talk with a manager and I did, but again he told me they don't have drivers for WINDOWS XP, so my options were to ask my money back from the store or install Windows 7 or Vista, but in my opinion thous 2 OS suck big time and I wanted to install only XP.
So they have an uderstandig with Microsoft on not providing drivers for Xp to force people to quit XP and migrate to Windows 7 or other new versions...so in my oppinion don't think it's normal or let's say LEGAL, once that someone buys a licence or more (I bought 5) they have to support that person with drivers and software, don't care that the OS is old and they want to evolve...OK, upgrade the OS to higher levels of security or design like Windows 7 or 8...but do it RIGHT not like they are doing
So I've searched on internet and saw that are many people that have this problem and I can help with the NETWORK drivers for N series.....go to REALTEK - Download driver for RTL8105E and solve it guys.....if you need more help send me an email to [email protected]
