    Hi Guys

I was wondering if someone on here could give me some advice.

I have an 18month old DELL inspiron laptop that is making very strange noises when I switch it on.

It started when I installed 32 Bit windows 7. After it was installed I would still be prompted to pick between Vista and Windows seven so I deleted the files on the recovery drive associated with vista.

Since then, whenever I switch on the computer, a strange whining noise comes out of the bottom of the computer near the fan and it sends me in a loop back the choice between windows 7 and vista (which is just white code style writing on black screen)

If i choose vista it gets a certain way into trying to install vista again only to say vital information is missing.

Ive tried all the re-install windows I have back to XP, Ive tried shift + F12 on start up. Ive also learned that to restore a DELL laptop involves getting into the start up and login at least as its a built in partition? not a disc?

Any suggestions how I can get this relatively brand new laptop working again??????

    Many thanks

    M
