    Hello all,

I have an Inspiron E1705 that will not power on. Was sitting in its docking bay when I went to bed and in the morning it would not turn on. Pressing the power button will cause the power and hard drive lights to blink once and then nothing. Pressing the power button with the Fn key causes the power and hdd lights to blink once and the three lock icon lights and wifi light to the left of the power button to all blink once at the same time. The fan is not coming on as far as I can tell.

I have re-seated the ram and tried each stick in each of the slots separately with no success. Reseated the hard drive, as well. The AC adapter is working properly (green light is lit when plugged in) and appears to be charging the battery. The battery is fully charged and shows 5 lights when the test button is pressed. I have tried all of these tests with just the battery and with no battery and just AC adapter plugged in.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    G Wilson

You get the same exact result with no battery and only the AC adapter? If you don't, it could be the adapter. Just because the light is on doesn't mean power is actually getting to the PC.

Honestly just sounds like an undercharged battery to me.

Yep, same result with fully charged battery by itself and with AC adapter by itself.
