Hi All- I have a Dell Inspiron E1505. The screen on my laptop started giving me issues with the screen. When starting the computer, I would get nothing but vertical lines. The computer would operate like normal but I couldnt see anything on the screen due to the lines. I hooked up to an external monitor and it worked fine that way. I read some forums and it seemed like I needed a new screen/inverter. I bought a screen/inverter and now I just get a bright screen. It powers on correctly and I can tell it comes to the login screen but all I see is a bright screen with no video. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Re-seat all of your connections? Are you sure you got the right part?

Did you replace the wires running through the hinge into the main body? Those can break over time.

I have the right part. I'm hooking it up correctly. I did not replace the wires though. I will try that. Do they have a specific name so I know what to look for?
