Sometimes my laptop won't power up. I just get a blinking curser on a black screen other times it attempts to power up but onces window is about to open I get a blue screen with this:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_ EQUAL

then it says to shut down..... yada yada..... then it says to disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Then I get these Technical info

    Stop: 0X000000000, 0X007A4B37, 0X0000001C, 0X0000001, 0X80501463

I ran the extended diagnosic test and everything passed.

This blue screen pops up either right after Dell sign on screen or sometimes when I'm actually using it. Sometimes I have trouble getting it past the blinking curser of death.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Run memtest on your computer to see if your ram is ok.

    Is it still under warranty?

No it's no longer under warranty. I guess you mean a memory test? Isn't that included with the extended test?

Only a basic one. It is not a good enough test to test the ram throughly enough.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=142746 is a good post on memtest86+. It may not be that problem though, but its a good start.

I have the exact same problem:
    Error screenshot 1
    Error screenshot 2

I've done a memory test with the built in utilities to the bios. Seemed like a pretty extensive test since it took about 20 minutes..
Haven't tried memtest yet. I'm going to try replacing the ram first and hope that works..

Does anyone have a solution yet?
    thanks..

Hey guys i had the exact same problem and recently got it fix after months of agony. My technician found it the internal wireless card, that was causing it to bluescreen. After he removed it and plugged in an external wireless card it works fine. actually im responding using that very same laptop. Now you guys can opt for another internal wireless card if u can get a compatible one. But i was tired of the jerk-offs at dell, who didnt know what the hell the problem was, so i just bought an external card for pretty much the same price. I hope this helps , email me if you have any questions.

my internal wireless card in my e1505 gave out a while ago (comp couldn't detect the card on startup 9 out of 10 times), and the techs at dell couldn't do anything but send me another faulty card. I didn't have the blue screen problem, but I had no internet connection either. i tried using a USB external card, but it caused freezes. What card did you end up buying, bahamasdread? I'm trying to find a good external card to replace the USB card. Any specs i'd need to pay attention to?
