Hi i have been given a Dell Inspiron E1405 by some one to repair.
Hard disc has died and i have contacted the person and they have no discs.
Does anyone have any links for the Recovery Disc for OS Drivers and Media Direct as one can not contact Dell Directly at all.
I'd be grateful if some one can help.
Its Media Direct 2.0 i know for sure reading the forums. The laptop has a vaild COA for Windows XP MCE so please please can someone help me on this PM me links if need be.
I can even supply FTP space for it to be uploaded too if required. Thanks in advance
I only need the Media Direct and fi.gho and .ghs files.

You would need to either purchased Dell XP or Vista discs and/or the driver/applications disc for the E1405.

Thanks for the reply. I take it no one has the Media 2.0 Discs i just recovered from the Dead Drive the fi.gho .ghs files so only the edia 2.0 Disc is required really now as that is a HPA partition which i can not recover.

I have the system now back to Factory State although the Recovery Partition is there its still stating that it cannot recover. I take it no one has the Media 2.0 Direct Disc at all they can upload ?

Edit: @hacktrix2006, you may be in luck, sort of.
the Dell part number you need is 0GM487, which is the Dell Drivers and Utilities DVD that contains the Media Direct 2.0 stuff and the drivers you were talking about.
Codemicro seems to have one left. just order it there if you can and you're all set.
I too use a Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop but has pre-installed Windows Vista Home Basic edition instead of Windows XP Media Center edition [and the COA sticker posted on the bottom of the E1405 laptop I have mentions Vista, not XP]. my younger brother ordered that laptop back in June 2007 and it came with a Vista OS DVD and the Dell Drivers & Utilities Resource/Recovery CD [which I will NOT upload their contents on any download site due to their very large size - almost 3Gb of stuff total (that's right, gigs) which is a waste of time & energy for me]. -

I managed to get this sorted with in the end forgot all about this thread. This maybe closed as solved. Thanks for the help people.
