Hey everyone I am Raju. I was looking for a netbook/tablet kind of item. I stumbled upon the Dell Inspiron Duo. Half Netbook and half tablet. My current Asus Eee netbook will be kindly given to my grandmother for her to use.

Anyways, I was wondering if if this is a good choice to buy and what are the PROS and CONS. What is the battery life on a full charge? I get almost 10 hours of battery life on my Asus Eee, however this is a tablet and netbook combo so I am expecting less.

I enjoy the whole touch feature and 320gb hdd and 2gb ram is great. So if you guys can point me in the right direction and tell me more about this machine that would be great. Also please include which color do you like or prefer, Red or Black. I am having a hard time choosing to as both are very appealing to me.

    Thanks

    -Raju

I used the Inspiron Duo for about 2 days. The performance is disappointing, but of course it is a netbook/tablet combo, but the Atom processor makes doing anything such a frustration. The touch function isn't as responsive as some of the best tablets out, it is also pricey (550+). When I tested our display model Inspiron Duo, it got to 15% charge in ~4-4.5 hours. It isn't particularly bulky but the tablet part obviously makes it bulkier than a netbook. The idea of the Inspiron Duo was good but what actually transpired...not so much.

Just to be on the safe side, but are you sure that the screen won't be too small?

haha yes I thought that too, but she chose this one out of the 5 laptops i offered her as this is very light and portable. It weighs about 1 pound so she is fine. She insisted so I said Ok.
