Ok, I have recieved a Dell inspiron b120. This laptop says that it is connected to my wifi, but whenever I try to access the internet, it says that the webpage cannot be displayed. I tried to uninstall old outdated mcafee virus protection and that didn't work. I am not sure what the problem is...can anyone help?

Do you have proper DNS entries?

The DNS and the DHCP match each other under network connection details. I am not sure if they are right though. How could I find out?

    I would try:

    - Resetting TCP/IP (in CMD type ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew)
    - Flushing your DNS (in CMD type ipconfig /flushdns)
    - Resetting winsock (in CMD type netsh winsock reset)
    - Scanning your machine for malware

I'm also going to move your thread to the Inspiron/Studio section, maybe you'll get more posts there.

Ah okay it's probably a proxy setting caused by malware. Go to internet settings -> Connections -> LAN settings -> uncheck anything with proxy unless you really are through a proxy.
