    Dell Inspiron 9600 Won't Boot Up

    Out of warranty (of course).
    It simply won't boot at all.
    When I reseated ram, it appeared to work.
    But only briefly....Back to same problem.
    Purchased new ram. Same thing.
    Boots if I reseat it each time only.
    Leaving me thinking the motherboard.....
    Any other thoughts?
    Also, does anyone know what a new motherboard would cost?

    Try different memory rams in different slots, try with one slot only check if that works, try to narrow down the issue to a single slot, also the motherboard price would be around 400 dlls from Dell, I am not sure how much would it cost on ebay tho.
