Hey studs, my Dell Inspiron 9100 monitor has ceased to function. It's black, although if I tilt it at a particular angle against some light I can vaguely see my desktop. The only problem I noticed prior to its death was a slight pinkish hue on the left part of the screen. When I turn it on now, I occasionally see the Dell startup screen in pink against a black background. Other times I see nothing. I suspect there is something wrong with the lighting of the monitor or the power supply to it (if such a thing exists).

Does anyone know how I can fix this? My warranty is already up.

If not, can anyone recommend a cheap monitor with an s-video jack that I can plug my laptop into? Right now I consider this my only option, as I don't actually know how to fix the monitor.

    Thanks all

Sounds like your inverter may have gone bad...

I'm not sure what they cost, but odds are you'd be better off going with an external monitor and saving for a new laptop.
