Can somebody help in me pick a laptop? This will be the first laptop/PC I will have bought, so I would like to take something that I will be really happy with.
I am interested in the Dell Inspiron 9100. I also work for Dell, so I am thing of taking advantage of the 10%
I am interested in playing games, internet, and watching DVD's.
I really don't mind about the Dell Inspiron not being so portable.
Or can you give me a list of other laptops I should be lookng at before I make a decision.

Why the Inspiron 9100? It only got 7 out 10 in some magazine review I read recently. Are these reviews good are bad, who can I trust. You guy's say it's great!

    Thanks.

I think it's a fine notebook. It's very fast, (I think) it looks good, and it's solidly built. There is only one reason you might want to consider another laptop, that I can see: the SXGA screen. If you choose the i9100, make sure you get either the XGA or UXGA screens in it; the SXGA has been plagued with faulty monitors as of late. I'm returning two now, and I'm not sure if I'll reorder.

If, however, you'd like to have the SXGA screen, you certainly have options. The Sager 5690 ( http://www.pctorque.com/5690.php ) is a great laptop. Also, you might want to consider http://hypersonic-pc.com/ ; their prices are similar, but you have a few more options.

    Good luck!

7 out of 10 is a low rating, it's a good notebook for what it's supposed to be. The battery life is not great and it is heavy, but that's because it's a desktop replacement -- some reviewers don't take this into consideration. It will most certainly allow you to play games (fast) and provide a good dvd and internet experience. Depending on how you configure the machine (i.e. type of processor + amount of memory) you could have a really great performer.

I have one, specs below. No problems with it yet. Had it for a month or 2. It does everything pretty well. I ran far cry on almost every high setting on single player and it ran pretty much perfect. Quite amazing if you ask me.
