When I hit the On button on my 8200, all three lights: Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock on the Bezel light up, as well as the Power Light, the Battery Light, and the "Busy" light all illuminate as normal, but only for about 5 seconds. :(

The laptop just instantly shuts itself down. I have tried by plugging the laptop in the mains and by battery, but the same thing happens. The lights come on for about 5 seconds, and a briefly hear the fan starting up for a about 2 seconds and the laptop shuts itself down.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem or how to solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Mayz

Seems like its a motherboard fault. It may be that it has broken, although this is unlikely. Does the POST screen appear? If it does, then the motherboard may be okay. If not, then its probably something wrong with Windows of the hard disk.

No, the Dell Inspiron start up screen does not appear...

The problem is...it wont boot up...So I cant reformat windows.

This problem only use to occur when I moved the position of my laptop on my desk. Now it's happening even when I have not moved it...

How could I check if something is wrong if I take the Keyboard off. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your suggestion Zero. Tightening up a few screws on the bottom fixed the problem...
