Recently on my Dell Inspiron 8100, the far right LED (battery LED I think), started blinking Orange and Green. It never ever did this, and I always use AC power.

To be specific, the battery LED blinks three times Orange, and once Green. However, when I take the AC plug out, the blinking stops. I was wondering if there was a problem with the battery, or worse, a problem with the actual laptop.

I tried looking on Google but could not find anything. It is a small thing, but I'm concerned as it has never happend before. And I don't think I have taken the battery out in five years...

    Any help would be appreciated,
    Mayz

I had that with a battery bought through ebay (a big mistake) with my 8200when I got it it did the same thing you're describing..
how many lights show on the battery? have you looked to see how long the battery holds it's charge? try it..it's recommended not to leave the battery in forever if you're not using it..I'm suspecting the battery is dead..
