    hey guys

got myself an inspiron 8000 to play with

however as it was a budget laptop back in the day it does not have a network miniPCI (just modem) so i would really like to get PCMCIA working so i can use wireless network and wired network with the two PCMCIA cards ive got here.

the problem is, whenever i insert a card into the PCMCIA port, the entire computer freezes up, but it returns to normal (can move the mouse etc) the second i pull the card out. the lights dont light up on the PCMCIA card when i put it in.

if the card is in there when i boot up, it freezes on bootup on the win XP splash screen.

the cardbus controller is a TI PCI-4410 and im using a fresh install of windows. can anyone help me? :(
