Some external reviews may point out the lanes of Thunderbolt 3 port. Example like Dave Lee

I have heard that it's a full speed thunderbolt 3 port, however there doesn't seem to be any solid reviews on the 7577 yet. I'm sad dell didn't send out any review laptops before offering them for sale.

Another thing I am going to call dell about today from my itemized list:
    1 525-0033 McAfee LiveSafe Consumer 12 Month Subscription $41.65
It would be awesome if they could get rid of that crap and I could save $41.65, lol. I don't have my hopes up but I should try since that would make this laptop around the $800 mark before any dell rewards or cashback.

So I just spoke with dell and they said that when I receive the laptop I can request the refund for McAfee. I'll have to do that because the only thing I detest more than McAfee is paying for McAfee that I'll never use...

Hi, I Checked with Dell via chat and they said the Adobe RGB coverage is 99%, can anyone else confirm this?

    Thanks

That might false and misleading, unless pointed out by external reviews.

99% AdobeRGB might be achievable thru IGZO or OLED panels

Looks like mine should ship tomorrow. I'm pretty excited for it, I wish I wasn't tied up in surgery all week otherwise I'd get a review up the day I get it. By this weekend I should have some information posted though.

Ah, I didn't know what you meant by "targets battery" but I see you've updated your post. Yeah I dunno why Dell changed the size of their battery, perhaps to push people toward alienware instead. I wonder if the older larger battery would still fit in the 7577...

Wait ? This model comes with a Max-Q ? I pondered buying it friday given the deal on Dell.ca but nowhere on the listed specs did I see any indication of the card being the Max-Q version ?

How do you tell them apart ? (stupid nvidia naming scheme, calling the Max-Q GTX 1055 would have been so much easier)

Yeah that's true, that $800 (will be closer to $650 after dell cashback) I paid for it is a total rip off...

All kidding aside, the initial reviews of the 1060MQ show it to be within 10% of the 1060.

The difference generally tends to be 10-20% depending on which 1060 laptop you are comparing it to. Full power 1060s (90-100W) tend to perform about 20% better whereas the low-power 1060s (80-85W) are only about 10% better.

Yeah I guess I'm not sure which power version they are running in the GS63VR and Aero15, but it's within 10% of them.

    go figure!

imo Razer Blade 14 would be a great candidate for 1060MQ, to improve the constrained thermals

The RB14 already uses a near-MQ level downclocked and TDP-limited card.

    Only about 55dB(A) :D

But yeah, the RB14 needs a 1050 Ti, not a 1060. I've yet to see a 14" 1060 machine that doesn't go up to around 45-50dB(A) under load. The MSI GS43 is also loud. Same for the AW13 (that is about 44-45 IIRC but still louder than I'd prefer)

nah i m just posting that MAXQ tdp to see the gap difference between real GTX 1060(laptop) TDP compare to MAXQ on that 7577, how much gap power (TDP) between them ? LOL i hope no significant drop in performance

The performance drop is about 20% give or take (depending on the full-speed 1060's power and cooling capabilities)

Max Q is about a 20% drop from the desktop 1060 *and still far ahead of the 1050ti if we're to trust digital foundry's results.
They've done a reasonably good amount of analysis here. About as in depth as one would want to go for a non-flagship product IMO.

The 7567 would get somewhat hot and loud already with the 1050ti, with the similar different temp per core issue of Alienwares... I'd wait a little before talking about OC...

NEWS ALERT BTW I spotted the very first comment on the 7577 on YouTube:
    Considerations by Chuong Nguyen

Not much but it's definitely not a good start...

aw is it possible that max Q is not optimized yet for this model or that they would have to adjust the fan profile?

Not an ideal testimony. One really needs some actual data. I'm guessing it comes with a hit or miss tripod heatsinks and inconsistent mounting/paste jobs like the AW's do.

Sadly makes sense; if the higher model is messy it's likely the little brother is messy too (if not worst). But let's see what the first proper temp reportings say :)

Once you're through dealing with the usual Dell software hassles, I'm excited to see how well the laptop performs, and what its battery life is. I was ready to recommend the 7577 to a few people until I saw they cut down the battery.

Hah I'm older than most medical students. I've worked on computers for the past 18 years or so, also did mechanical engineering, and was in the Army...

So far the laptop has been really great cooling, temps on the cpu and gpu never hit above 71C... It's also a ton cooler and quieter than my GS63VR.

Timespy scores so far are 3200, like 15% behind the full 1060 in the GS63VR. It looks like it's lowering the clock speed around 70C.
