This had me pretty excited (I especially like the more understated front grill) until I noticed the smaller battery v_v

IPS displays across the board from the get-go this time. Nice.

The lower-capacity battery is a bit saddening though, as that was a considerable selling point for some. I wonder if it'll be possible to swap in the old 74Wh battery in exchange for losing the quickcharge.

So ugly, it would have been much better in the Inspiron 5577 / 7559 case, which also have better cooling...

Dell prefer this repugnant design for gaming capable laptops, just think for their whole Alienware line.I personally 'd the XPS 15 9560 with this 1060 Max-q GPU, but the inspiron 5577 would satisfy too.

XPS 15 can barely handle a 1050, though. 1060MQ would melt.

Wonder of they are still using the same thermal design as the 1050ti model.

7577 with the 1060 is heavier than the one with the 1050 so I would guess that they might change something in there.

yeah i think they do some minor change upgrade at thermal design, due to 10 watt increase from 1050Ti to MAX-Q 1060. the basic thermal design 7567(1050Ti) is already good out of the factory box.

Good catch! The 7567 specs mention a subwoofer while the 7577 specs do not.

Probably also got cut, like the battery. At this point, I think the 1050 Ti 7567 will end up being the superior device, especially with a Max-Qrippled 1060 that barely outperforms the 1050 Ti

Max-Q design on thick 1050Ti laptops seem rather pointless, unless they can come up with newer optimized chassis like Asus Zephyrus. Bezels little T H I C C. What are they doing with the space inside? A little disappointing considering big 60Wh battery can already fit into such thick chassis
Do you prefer 1060 Max-Q in at least ultrabook chassis?

I dislike the "Quick Charge" feature. It's a gimmick. All they do is just make the battery smaller so the capacity can get filled up faster, and not optimize the charger itself.

The 1060MQ is pointless in here. They cut the battery size in half for it. Pointless.

The exception that I'll take in 1060MQ laptop are when they are packed in ultrabook chassis with optimized thermal solution. I hope this is possible

They clearly screwed up the website, 2400 eur for the fhd 1060 version is just ridiculous. I saw it on Amazon for 1399 eur which seems reasonable. If the reviews are alright I might get one, at least the design is reasonable. Finally.

hell yeah, whats wrong with this company ?? they will made some mistake again ?? LOL ?? early this year they stubborn to ship good laptop with TN panel, everyone love the laptop, BUT NOT THE SCREEN right ?? LOL. and in the Q3 they've realize they make some blunder on that stupid TN panel, and they shiped again with IPS, and now what ? they CUT THE BATTERY to 56WHr, and REMOVE THE SUBWOOFER and ADD 250 gram's MORE WEIGHT, LOL ??

You can't always move forwards, sometimes it's good to take some steps back :D

Honestly the battery life could still be very decent and most competition doesn't do much better. Audio could be good even without subwoofer (which doesn't do much in laptops), the screen well, at least it shouldn't be horrible this time (still mediocre though, acer style).

BTW Prices came to the realm of reason today. Even though when I asked in chat yesterday the guy (in a rude way) said that there were no mistakes... Of course you can't customize anything and they're still high, but at least they don't ask you 3,000€

I will not be recommending the new 7577 personally. The battery life cut is a real insult ti value-buyers. It was the ONLY option for good battery life in a gaming-capable machine sub 1000$ and they killed it. (I doubt the new one will last for more than 5-6 hours - that's miserable when compared to the 7567's 9-10 hours)

I believe dell is working on the assumption that if you game you must be connected to a power source to make full use of the CPU and GPU and uhmm a brighter screen not to mention the mouse/keyboard and gaming headset you will probably have connected.

when you are off the the power grid, you are probably not gaming, you might be playing a game but that game would have to be a light one like FB games lol or non FPS / graphic intensive games.

I agree the battery cut is a shame. Still I hope for a reasonably priced, quiet 1060 machine with acceptable build quality and at least somewhat bearable design which doesn't overheat. Oh and a useable screen would be great. Let's see I guess. :)

It is a disappointment just for 1060MQ to be placed. I know that 1060MQ is possible on ~2kg ultrabook chassis, like Razer Blade, ridiculous!

Hah I just purchased one to give it a shot. Sad that they reduced the battery size, but wanted to give the 1060mq a shot. According to NBC it's pretty on par with the 1060.

Let us know when you get it.

I personally think they should have went with a 17" 1060 non maxq.

That being said, I hope Dell didn't just go with the Max-Q because they wanted to use the same thermal design as the 1050 model. I don't think that would adequately cool the 1060 Max-Q.

And yes, in real life performance you will only probably see an average of 5 less FPS compared to the regular 1060. The Max Q is a larger jump up from the 1050ti than it is a downgrade from the full power 1060.

From ehat I've seen so far it seems like the 1060 Max-Q can be easily overclocked to meet the regular clock speeds while it's still running at lower voltage so the system remains cooler, especially if it is an upgraded cooling system to meet the 40db target. Seems alright to me if that's indeed the case. Curious to see some reviews for this Notebook!

I will post up here when I get it. My hope is that they changed the cooling to comply with the Max Q specs and the 40db limitation, but I'll find out as soon as I get it.

what configurations did you order ?

yeah, nVIdia so concern about noise, and another feature called whisper mode will make the laptop even quieter (i dont know about this feature LOL ), and would you mind to share internal pic 7577 later please ? i saw they still using single screw to open the bottom panel.

I ordered the i5 version since the i7 wasn't worth the extra $200 for me. If I like it I'll put the 1tb nvme drive and 16GB of ram from my xps in it and sell the XPS. I will post a picture of the internals as soon as I get it, however it says I won't have it till next week.

I recently ordered one of these.
I went the base spec i5 7300HQ, I didn't want to pay more than $1000 for essential a disposable machine. It's going to hopefully be a cheap and cheerful experience and is primarily for a new job and hopefully will pulling double duty at night.
Apparently these models can easily be upgraded to the 120hz TN panels - something I might look into doing if the standard IPS doesn't OC to at least 90hz.

    @Mr. Fox @Papusan @D2 Ultima @bloodhawk mea culpa....mea culpa

So I had to cancel my 7577 and reorder because I found out I could use my military 15% off coupon on it, it saved me another $70 on it...
The funny thing is, my order ETA is now 9/26 instead of 9/29. Oh dell I don't understand you.

Still going the i5 route, the i7 is tempting, but I don't use anything on my laptop that needs HT. If I need something done like that I can use the desktop or the 14 core server, lol.
