    Dear Abaxter:

You ordered more ram than I (512 to 256) and a bigger HD (40 to 30). I hope I won't regret doing the same of my order last week! Being a novice, I ordered the longest repair and warranty plan. My rep told me in the long run, I would save money.

I am also monitoring your review over my experiences, for you may find ways to tweak the machine for optimum performance which I would benefit!

Until the machines arrive, take care.
    Sincerely,
    macmac

Mac, you should really invest in another 256 RAM. Go to www.crucial.com to buy. I think you'll find performance to be pretty bad without it.

    Dear Brian,

Never took apart any of my Pwrbooks! All upgrades were ordered before they shipped to me. This 700m would be my very first PC laptop. My qualifications: Good with troubleshooting analog circuitry; lousy on digital. Also, quite honestly, am a little afraid in pushing or applying pressure onto those little sockets that hold them Rams. How much is enough or too much.

But yes, you are right (I hate you for it). I plan to use this laptop with much Office applications and will feel a little less confident in tackling them with just 256ram.

    Thank you Brian?!
No sleep for me (Hawaii time 5am, Aug 18th.)
    Sincerely, Macmac

LOL - it's very easy to install and you won't break anything I'm sure.
