    Hi there
Would anyone with a Dell Inspiron 640m/e1405 be so kind as to take a picture of the ac adapter and post it?
I want to see how big or small it is.
    I would greatly appreciate it
    Thank you very much

If you have ever owned a Dell notebook in the past, you know that their ac adaptors are affectionately known as 'bricks' - not for no reason - they are massive.

and on this note, this is how both my dells died (slow and painful deaths) the ac adapters just quit working. something in the connection from the adapter to the pc just died. neither new batteries nor new adapters fixed it. i was told it would require a motherboard replacement ($400). tht doesn't necc. have to do with size and maybe the new ones don't have that problem... i'm just sayin!

@washwords - ditto here. I travelled abroad with my dell, and the ac adaptor must have conked out during the trip, since my dell's mobo promptly fizzled out at home.

Yup, same here. I had an Inspiron 2650..old stuff. I think I had 2 mobo changes but the last 1 had to do was caused by me. lol Left the window open during a large storm and the rain hit the machine. It was never the same after that.
What are the dimensions of that ac adaptor. Its hard to compare whether it is big or small. Thank you very much for the picture though. I very much appreciate it
