I'd definetely get the Dell, it's got a better video card and twice as much ram not to mention the three year warranty can come in handy.

I just got a new Toshiba A100-599. I am very disapointed, because it is ASSEMBLED IN CHINA. I was expecting japanese quality, and I got stuck with a chinese quality. And we know that is low. The plastic pieces does not fit perfectly so they click on joints. I can insert my finger in the lower part of the screen between the screen and the plastic. Also my screen has a bad pixel. And I've got some paper saying that if less than 5 pixels only then it is subject for warranty. I guy in our forums said he took back his laptop for at least 5 bad pixels. That means there is NO QUALITY CONTROL in toshiba laptops(otherwise no laptop with five bad pixels would be in the market). At least for our countries, because I don't think they could sell these kind of quality in USA. In there they have the smart concept of MONEY BACK GUARANTEE, so they would get all laptops back in a minute. But not the case here in Romania, we are considered a third world country where all junks or refurbished products can be sold as new. I will never buy a Toshiba product again. Ever. Everything but not chinese stuff..
