    Hi everyone,

I've got an Inspiron 6400 and the default monitor driver is installed. the refresh rate of the monitor is 60Hertz and every time I work with my laptop I
would always have a terrible headache  . I know that it's because of the low refresh rate of the monitor cause I don't have the same problem with any other monitor. I just want to know if there is any driver for monitor to install so I can increase the refresh rate and get rid of these headaches.

Thanks for your helps guys.

LCDs do not "refresh'. Only CRTs do. Your headache is coming from something else.

    thank you NotebookYoozer!!

Yesterday after I posted my thread, I asked one of my friends and he gave me the same answer. I think something is wrong with the power supply. maybe it has some vibration or flicker that it makes me crazy. I don't have this problem when I'm working at home, but I got headache just 1-2 hours after I start to work in the office. I think something is wrong with this office. Maybe the Boss!!!

    But thanks anyway.

LCDs DO refresh! They just do it in a different way than CRTs... The Refresh Rate is simply how often the screen image is changed per second. LCDs are fine at a lower refresh rate than CRTs simply because they are able to do it all at once versus having a gun (so you don't see a flicker)...

Try adjusting your LCDs brightness as it could be stressing your eyes...

Inspect closely and see if the image is sharp, sometimes defective LCD monitors produce slightly blurred images (I don’t know what is the correct term for it, it seems like the colors don’t converge accurately, has a slight offset). I've seen it in 2 Desktop LCDs monitors in the past.

Also run at native resolution, and make sure that the text size is large enough (change the DPI not the resolution). Small text, ambient light, contrast and glare all contributes to eye strain , which I suppose could lead to a headache.
