Hi, this is the first time ive used this, so i hope im doing it right..
I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 6400. The screen wont start up & my extended 3yr warranty had just ran out 6 weeks ago. I have never had a problem with the laptop until now & have never used any of the warranty, I have recommended so many people to Dell . When I asked to speak to someone regarding the warrany & what can be done I was told basicly TOO BAD. I feel this is very unfair. Dell have told me to extend my warranty & they will fix the screen for $700.00..Has anyone else had this problem Thanks

If you're out of warranty, you're out of warranty. There really isn't anything you can do.

That being said, if this is just a problem with the screen, it should be fairly cheap to replace. The cheapest E1505/6400 LCD I can find on eBay is $75, and if you don't want to go through the hassle of dismantling the display assembly, a screen with display assembly still goes for less than $100.

    And of course, service manual:
