    Hello,
when i check the power manager of my notebook (both in windows and system blue screen setup) it tells me that the battery is not installed. and the battery red alarm down the LCD is on. but there is something wonderful and it is that the notebook works without power supply!! it means when i plug out the power cable, the notebook continues to working but with battery red alarm on.
also, in the system tray it shows me that i don`t have any battery installed!!!
i want to know what i should do? doesn`t it couse damage to my laptop?
    Thanks a lot.

Seems like a battery charger controller failure, it is integrated in the motherboard.

Give dell a call maybe they have another solution, but it might be for sure a motherboard replacement
