Hi people,
I was given a Dell Inspiron 600m with major issues.
Now, as it cost me nothing I have nothing to lose.
Fixing it seemed to be a not to hard challenge.
Xp Home was a mess, there were 8 graphic design programs and 9000+ photos.
Simple, format and install a fresh copy of XP.
While attempting an install of XP the HDD went to God.
Fitted a new 60 gig Toshiba drive.
Problem. It seems I need the original discs that came with it when new.
Xp Home is working perfectly.
Nothing else is.
No Fn keys, no ethernet, no wireless..............
I have done this job on desktops a dozen times with never a problem.
Downloaded all 94 drivers from the Dell site. Device manager can't seem to find anything suitable amongst them.
Purchased a "guaranteed" fixit disc that didn't. Supposed to autorun but won't. Device manager can't do anything with it either.
So, I suspect I am doing something wrong. It's probably something really simple and I will feel like an idiot for not seeing it.
Thanks in advance.

C'mon Guys,
24 hours and not a fix in sight. -
Over 100 reads and not a word!
Do I have BO ? -
i have all the 600m drivers from my laptop. i recently got the blue screen of death and after running diagnostics i found out I had a few bad sectors in my hard drive. After i installed my new hard drive I also had the same problem as you looking for some drivers. My friend was able to hook up my old hard drive and retrieve the drivers (saved in a folder) and I was able to save my 600m. If you need a copy just let me know. I cant guarantee everything will work (if anything at all) because the components might not be the same. Im not sure, im not that tech savvy. Anyway, just let me know. GL.
