I'm looking for a laptop for college this fall, and both these machines caught my eye for their Radeon X300. I'm an avid gamer, and though I'll be keeping a desktop for serious frag sessions, the ability to game on a laptop would be a plus.
I have been looking a D610's on the outlet store, and new Inspiron 6000's. I can get them similarly equipped for about the same price. The weight difference doesn't really matter, although I do like the 6000's better screen. Ultimately, it will boil down which one is faster. I'm looking at both with the 2ghz Pentium M and 512mb of RAM (which would get upgraded eventually), but is there a signifigant speed difference between the two?
This laptop will probably have to last at least 4 years. Which one should I buy? (And if anyone has any other suggestions for a ~$1100 laptop, pipe up.)

    Thanks.
