My friend helped me format my laptop. this is about the 4-5th time he helped me done it but the wireless never works nor wired with my laptop. The thing is my wifi card Intel Pro Wireless 2200 broke a few years ago somehow. I ended up purchasing a wifi card on ebay named gigabyte pci card for my laptop. It worked when my other friend installed the drivers.

However, i cannot find these drivers online anymore. Can someone help me? The wifi card i bought is called 108M Inspiron 5000 6000 8000 Wireless Card WiFi CF.

Do you have a more exact brand/model number? If it's a Gigabyte card, you can try their website to see if they have drivers available.

Have you checked the Dell website for the Inspiron 6000, and get the Ethernet driver from their website?

Hey to the posters who helped me fixed my ram thanks a lot.

My computer was formatted by my friend and he helped install my wireless and downloaded the gigabyte wireless driver from the website. This was done at his home and internet worked.

However at my home, i can connect to the internet wireless but it is not my internet connection. I see that it shows netgear or some other wireless connection. I tried to click on view other wireless networks but it does not allow me to. Does anyone know what i can do? I also cannot use my laptop as a wired connection as well. I have a linksys wireless router that works great and would like to use it for my laptop wireless like it did before.

Anyone can tell me what to do? Thanks.

Check the properties on your card in the device manager. Make sure that you have the correct band set for your router.

Also make sure that any security protocol is set correctly.

Control Panel> Device Manager> Network Adapters> right click your wireless card and select Properties and then Advanced> Wireless Mode

Copy the settings from the one that connects to the router. Set yours the same.
