I've got an Inspiron 6000 on order and its ship date is set to Feb 2nd, we'll see if it actually arrives then. Upon arrival I'll give first thoughts and post pictures, and follow it up with a full review in March. CNet has a First Take on the Inspiron 6000 for those interested:

7.1 lb seems to be on the heavy side[ :(]
I really like the screen options they have though, particularly the WSXGA+.
Now I gotta debate whether or not this machine is too heavy for a university student like me.

Is there any other similarly priced laptops that have Enhanced LCD, 14"+ AND at least SXGA+ ??

I look at medical images on the laptop (not for diagnosing disease), for teaching files. I have noticed that the medical images look a bit blocky when compared to my desktop at the same resolution setting at 0.28 pitch. Is this a limitation of my screen resolution? Is this a limitation of the LCD technology of laptops in general.
