I'm going to buy a Dell Inspiron 6000. there is three kinds of LCD display:

    1- 15.4" WXGA TFT (1280*800)
    2- 15.4" WSXGA (1680*1050)
    3- 15.4" WUXGA (1920*200)

I want to use this notebook for surfing the web, email, programming, and MS Office (Word, excell)

Somebody told me Dell 6000 WXGA LCD is dark.

    My question:
What is the difference of three kinds LCD? The difference is only in resolution? or the brightness is also different?

I think WXGA is good for me. what do you recommend? Is it dark?

    Thanks

The panel in the i6000 is pretty average, but that's okay given the price. The resolution is the only real difference. As to what suits you, that's totally personal. You should go look at a few and see what you like best. I'd probably recommend 1280x800 for most users.

you really need to just go to a computer shop and check out the different resolutions for yourself. it's not something you can decide on from a posting board and all you're going to get are a bunch of replies with people stating their own personal preferences. try to find a computer shop that has a larger number of display models and play around on them comparing the different resolutions. that's the only way you're going to be able to make an informed decision.

I have WSXGA+ and like it. But thats competely personal. You should do as recommended and visit best buy or curcuit city. You could also check out a Dell Kiosk at a mall. Its my experience the kiosks usually have a 6000 on display either wsxga+ or wuxga+ rather than the normal. Plus a chance to look at the brightness and contrast of a screen on the exact model focused on in this thread.
