    Hello again NBR!

    Just a quick question?

    1. Would it be ok for a laptop like mine(inspiron6000) to charge even if the battery is not yet empty or Totally drained? or do you recommend draining first the battery before charging it? Coz I would really like the battery to last long.

    2. Like when the battery is in use and I plug the AC adapter, does it automatically charge the battery?

    3. Do I have to take off the battery at the back to use the AC adapter only?

    4. And lastly do I have to take off the battery at the back when using the AC adapter? or there is no need to take it off? Like leaving the AC adapter plugged for about 10hour straight? Does it cause any overcharge at the battery or not?

Hoping you guys can enlighten me coz I really want to take good care of this Laptop since I am far far away from the US.

    Thanks in advanced!

    Hi Boom

1.) yes you can charge the battery before it is completely drained. If you aren't going to be using your battery for a while, i would remove the battery to prevent overcharging.

2.) yes, it does automatically charge the battery

3.) No, if your ac adapter is plugged in to your laptop, your laptop is using the ac for power - not your battery.

4.) It is recommended that you remove the battery after it is fully charged and if you don't plan on using it for awhile. If you leave it in there with the ac adapter, your battery starts to become discharge, and your laptop detects that, so it tries to recharge it back up. This causes damage to your battery and will cause your battery life to go down.

There are some very good sites on how to avoid all of this. The one that I use is : http://www.laptopbattery.net/notebookbatteries_life.html
