    Dell Inspiron 5150 Wont run/charge from AC

    Hi

    It works fine from the battery i bought another ac and same problem
    the battery now dead :(
    i dont wanna pay for it to be fixed eg new mobo, power jack

    i wanna know if i can charge the battery using some ac or dc low voltage plug ?
    eg what pins to connect the wires to volage amps ect coz i have a few plugs about,thanks for any info

    i took the laptop apart and the power jack seems to be intacted so ????????

    I had a 5150 with the same problem and the mother board apparently had to be replace. It was under warrany back then, though.

    At the time I read that it was a somewhat common problem with the 5150.

    Dell got sued over that mobo maybe you should contact them. I tried to fix a 5160 but Dell sent me two DOA mobos and I gave up.

    It has been about a year since I last saw anything about it. If you call they may be able to offer you some sort of support for it. Doesn't hurt to try.

    so no one have info on charging the battery without the laptop and not with one of them charging kits thing i ent spending more money on this laptop
