Hey guys,
My aunt recently got hold of a Inspiron 5100. I checked the device manager for a wireless card and it looks like it doesn't have one. If we were to purchase a Wireless Network Adapter like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8682286&type=product&id=1197679235670 would we then be able to connect to the internet? We are using a Linksys router. Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Justin

A USB adapter WILL work; however, I would recommend that you buy an internal wireless adapter instead, specifically either an Intel 2200 or 2915.
There are directions on Dell's site as to how to access the internal mini PCI slot:

These cards are very cheap on eBay and they work very well for their age; drivers are also available directly from Dell (though you make have to search under some different laptops such as the D600).
