    Dell Inspiron 3542 Touch 1080p IPS successful swap

    I just performed a successful 1080p IPS upgrade on the Inspiron 3542 Touch (i3542-3267BK) model.

    Original display:

    Original panel: (B156XTT01.1 -- 40pin edp + touch combo connector)

    New 1920x1080 IPS panel: (B156HAT01.0 -- same screen used in Inspiron 5547 Touch, got it used for $43, shipped)

    May work in newer models too, provided they use the same connector and are the panel type that uses an integrated touch layer, as long as the newer models didn't start omitting the connection for the second eDP lane.

    More resolution, wide viewing angles, color gamut much closer to sRGB, significantly better contrast.

    Got it on eBay, used. I just searched B156HAT01 and found a listing.

    Hmmm, I wonder can I do that with my 2 inspirons? I have an 11 3000 with touch and a 13 5000 with touch.
