I recently installed windows xp on my dell inspiron 2200 after having ubuntu on my laptop. I download the network drivers from the website and everything else seemed to be working fine. The only problem I have is when I close my laptop and come back and open it up, the screen is black and will not turn back on. The green lights on my laptop are still on but the screen will not turn on. I have tried using the crt/lcd button and changing the power management settings. What should I do, this seems to be a very common problem?

I'd start by looking for the most recent display driver and then install SP3 for XP.
