    My uncle bought me a dell inspiron as a gift but i am waiting for him :
    - 2nd generation Intel Core i3-2310M processor 2.10 GHz
    - 3gb DDR3 ( 2 DIMM )
    - 17.3in HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Display with TrueLife
    - Intel HD Graphics/HD Graphics 3000 with up to 1.6GB Dynamic Video Memory
    - 320gb 5400rpm SATA hdd

    * can i play the games released between 2010 - 2012 smoothly ? ( bfbc2, mw2, crisis 2, gta 4, etc.. )
    * will i have a chance to play battfield 3 - mw 3 etc... and possible 2012 games ?
    * and i have a question not about games - can i watch hd movies smooth ? and what about 1080p i dont have a clue about it

    edit : i have made some research but i wanted to be sure, especially about performance of intel hd 3000. how is it on games ( mainly fps ) ?

    Short answer: terrible. You might be able to play some of your games at the lowest settings, but you definitely shouldn't expect much.

    1080p video should be fine, though.

    I have the EXACT same machine and newer FPS games are not going too run well at anything above low setting. Strategy games should be fine... I play league of legends and it runs really smoothly.
