As the Inspiron 17R SE is quite a large there will no doubt be some trouble finding cases and bags that fit it properly. I'm sure that not all cases and bags that are advertised as up to 17" will fit it well.

What case or bag do you use to transport/protect your 17R SE and does it fit?

I will try and keep this post updated with bags that definitely take the 17R SE and those that don't.

I have a Swissgear Mythos case which I got for £40. I like it very much. Plenty of pockets and compartments.

I was asking about cases and bags that carry the 17R SE. The Swissgear Mythos is a 15" case. Are you saying that the Mythos holds the 17R SE?

Ah ok cool, I think they make a 15 inch one too. Pretty sure I've seen it around. Added. Thanks

I'm hoping for a few more owners to throw in their experiences. I'm particularly interested in backpacks myself

I am using the Dell bag that was offered when i bought my 17R SE, it fits perfectly and it's a nice backpack with lots of pockets and features. Bought for 80$

Bump. Are the other 17 R SE owners carrying their laptops in their pockets or what??

The bag I bought arrived the other day. Seems really nice, haven't gotten to try it out yet with the Inspiron but going to test it with a 17" Vostro this weekend

I saw today, that on the Dell backpack, you have some sort of a sleeve, that you can removed from a hidden pocket at the bottom of the bag and then you can, with an elastic contour, cover the whole bag with a nylon cover to protect it from rain or so, very clever!

I recent picked up the case logic RBP-117. Lots of pictures on amazon so I won't post them here. I like the bag, lots of room without seeming bulky. The pictures show a spot for storing a 10" tablet, but there are actually two spots. I'm using the one that is used for magazines, it's lower to the ground and doesn't cause as much sagging.

Shoulder Bag: everki advance laptop briefcase
-The everki bag is nothing special, it does however have excellent build quality including metal strap clips. Plastic ones always concern me.

Backpack: Targus Notebook backpack upto 17.2" laptop
-The Targus bag has an insulated pocket for hot/cold foods, pretty sweet. It does fit at least 4 beer too =D
