I recently ordered a Dell 1720 notebook and am looking for a suitable backpack capable of carrying this beast! I didn't like any of the backpacks on the dell website in terms of looks.

    Desirable qualities:
-Needs to be a backpack. No shoulder bags, etc.
-A backpack that will fit a 17" Dell 1720 in the usual protective sleeve or something.
-It should be stylish yet functional.
-It should not be TOO expensive but I will pay for quality.
-It should be large enough to carry other stuff, such as text books, etc. Preferably I'd like it to be in the 30-35L size range.

If you feel this is more appropriate for the accessories forum, feel free to move it, but I'd hope to hear from some Dell 1720 users.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I use this with my Vostro 1700 -

it has plenty of room and is really comfortable. i'm able to carry around a 90w power supply, external mouse, the Vostro 1700, 3 textbooks and notebooks, mp3 player, graphing calculator plus have room for more. I really like how it will stand up by itself and the portion that rests against your back is padded to protect the laptop. Dont let the pictures on newegg fool you, the middle pocket has a bottom that folds up to expand it another few inches. I usually have 2 textbooks+notebooks in that pocket with another textbook+notebook in the same pocket as the computer
