It depends on the person, go to best buy or somthing and check out both resolutions on 17inch notebooks just for the feel.

I would say definitely go with the 1920X1200 resolution. With that bigger screen, it will be nice to have all of that extra real estate. I have that on my 1530, and I love it. It's really easy to fit multiple windows and multi-task a bunch. Some people might tell you that reading text will be too hard, but you really become accustomed to it very quickly. And if not, you can just increase your DPI settings. Although you have no blu-ray, you won't be able to take advantage of the fact that it is 1080p (unless you get some HD rips on your hard drive), but still, for gaming you could have whatever game you're playing open and not in full screen so you can still take advantage of other applications. Also, its great for wordprocessing and surfing the web. So, I say go with the HD. It's worth it.

Oh and I agree with X2P. Don't just take my word for it. I definitely would check it out at a store.
