Greetings from NJ from drpixel2526--call me Doc for short. Am very new to forum and ask your patience. 1720 HD very close to capacity. Looking at 750GB . Then get someone to install 750B drive , then move original drive files to new 750GB (and possibly install original drive in second bay (if possible)
I am new--hoping someone can help me out--am NOT hands on-type guy. My profile has email address listed--would appreciate a helping 'hand'. drpixel2526 or Glenn

    Thanks in advance

Hi My name is Amar, I work for Social Media and Community Team at Dell,

With regards to your concern as I understand that you are trying to add an additional Hard drive due to space constrain.
    • Maximum supported hard drive on inspiron 1720 is 500 Gb in each slot.
    • we would suggest you not to remove the the original hard drive
    • instead install the secondary Hard drive in the secondary slot after which you can backup or transfer the data to the secondary drive.

    Thanks & Regards
